How Turkeys Could Get You Blacklisted (And What SEOs Should be Thankful for This Year)

SEO Thanksgiving

It’s Thanksgiving today. I know, you are probably in a rush, trying to get everything ready for the tonight so I’ll keep things short here.

This undoubtedly is an interesting year in our industry. And just as it might be too early to start wrapping it up yet, today is a perfect time to think of what we should be thankful for.

Well, let me go first then. Here’s my list, in no particular order:

Our Industry

SEO has come a long way since I started working in it couple years ago. The last 2-3 years have been particularly difficult to many. What’s more, that process isn’t over yet I am sure we all keep our guard up all the time.

But, unpredictable or not, this is a great industry to be in. There are some amazon people leading it and I am sure there are some exciting things awaiting us ahead.

Great Prospect for the Future

All those changes in the industry bring great prospect for the future. (Finally) SEO started being incorporated into other marketing disciplines. We get to work on more integrated campaigns and I am sure this trend will only develop further.

Perhaps there will come a day when a typical online marketing campaign will not run without SEOs involvement? Who knows….

Room for Creativity

Changes in the industry also force us to be more creative. Long gone are the days of just sitting at your desk and building semi automated links (yep, we all did that!).

These are the days of thinning outside the box and looking for new ways to promote clients sites online. I love it. You?

Clients seem to start to perceive the value of SEO differently. In their eyes, we seem to no longer work purely with keywords and rankings but constitute an integral part of their marketing mix. I personally think that’s one of the main things to be thankful for.

Well, there you go, that’s my list.

How About You?

What do you think we should be thankful for this year? Drop us a line or two in the comment, if you have time today of course. 😉

Happy Thanksgiving from All of Us at SERPs!
