HubSpot Seed Page Layout. How To Export It In JSON File Format

What is HubSpot Seed Page Layout?

The HubSpot Seed Page Layout refers to the foundational template or structure used as the basis for creating new pages of your project. This layout serves as a starting point for creating new pages.

The term “seed page” implies that it acts as a seed or starting point from which pages can grow and evolve. Our software will use this seed page layout to create new pages. So all new pages of your project will look the same but with some different data that you will mention in your Google Sheet.

To upload the HubSpot seed page layout to your project you need to export it from HubSpot in json file format.

How to Export a HubSpot Page in JSON File Format?

Exporting a HubSpot page in JSON file format typically involves using the HubSpot API or a third-party integration.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to export HubSpot page data to a JSON file:

Step 1: Obtain Your HubSpot Access token

  • Log in to your HubSpot account.
  • Navigate to your account settings.

  • Open the Account Setup > Integrations > Private Apps tab on the left side of the page.
  • Click “View access token” and copy it. You’ll need it to authenticate your requests to the HubSpot API.

Note! If you don’t have Private Apps, you need to create one, so you will have an access token to work with API requests.

  • To create a Private App click “Create a private app” button

  • Don`t forget to add “content” in Scopes tab

  • After filling all needed data, click on the “Create app” button in the top right corner.

Step 2: Initiate a GET Request

    • Open HubSpot documentation on the page and find request –  GET /cms/v3/pages/site-pages/{objectId}

    • Specify the ID of your page
    • Click on the test call button, choose Private app access token,  paste you Private app access token and click the send request button.
Private app access token we already have from step 1

    Step 3: Receiving a Response

    • Click the Response tab to see data in json format.

    • Now that you have exported your page in JSON file format, copy all the text from the response and paste it into a new text file with the .json extension using any text editor.

That’s it! You’ve now successfully exported HubSpot page data to a JSON file.
